Working principle for Nimbus ESE lightning rod
Nimbus is a lightning rod with an electronic streamer emission device that uses the atmospheric gradient to store energy to subsequently emit high-frequency pulses to the atmosphere which creates a priority channel for the lightning discharge, known as the upward tracer or leader. Nimbus thus guarantees that the impact point will be higher than a passive system that increases the radius of coverage, driving the lightning strike through the down-conductor to ground, which is responsible to neutralise the discharge.
