STOKEN RING
Token Ring is a local area network in ring topology promoted by
IBM which is based on the standard IEEE 802.5. It allows data rates
from 4 to 16 Mbit/s. Its ring connection is achieved by cabling
the terminals in star where in the center a concentrator device
(MAU) is installed.

Depending on the distance, the type of installation and the location
of the terminals, the local area network is protected by installing
protectors at the concentrator device, or at the terminals, or on
all network elements.
