ETHERNET
Ethernet is a widely used local area network with bus technology
based on the standard IEEE 802.3. It achieves data rates of 10 Mbit/s,
although in high speed networks it can reach up to 100 Mbit/s.

Protectors recommended for the different connection formats
of Ethernet |
Within the standard several variations of Ethernet are used, such
as:
10Base-2 (Thin Ethernet or Thinnet), which is installed with fine
coax RG58 and BNC connectors in "T", also called Cheapernet.
10Base-5 (Thick Ethernet or Thicknet), which is installed using
thicker coax cable of 50 ohm.
10Base –T. It is installed with twisted cable pairs using
RJ45 connectors. Within this group there are the high speed data
networks called Fast Ethernet at 100 Mbit/s, with cables of category
5 (100Base-TX) .
All these standard elements can be protected with our protector
series particulary designed for Ethernet and its different connection
formats.
